I cant say anything else that the pedals are perfect. You guys have really done something special!

  2. Robin Walters (verified owner)

Quite simply the most unique and capable pedals I’ve ever owned… and I’ve owned quite a few! There’s a lot I could say about the R7’s but I’ll keep it brief for the purpose of this review. The quality of materials and workmanship, the aesthetics, the adjustability, the software… the list goes on, but the thing I love the most is that heel plate. I absolutely love the way your whole foot stays connected to the pedal at all times, it feels incredible and really does enhance your sense of control. I’ve never seen anything like it on any other pedal set and it really shows the guys at Simgrade put a lot of thought into the design. My search for the ideal pedals ended here.

  3. Jonas Karlsson

I got the SimGrade R7’s are setup on the rig and did my first trials on them! First I want to say that I have never tried a set of hydraulic or pneumatic pedals, so I can not compare the SimGrade R7 to any of those! But here is my honest review and impressions after 1,5 hours on Spa in the McLaren 720S in ACC!
First I felt I needed to get some kind of base line to use as comparison between the Sprints and the new R7’s. So I decided to give it a final shot to get below that elusive 2:17 on Spa in ACC with my Heusinkveld Sprints in anticipation of my new pedals. I have spent more than 600 hours in ACC and I have become quite decent overall. I can’t say I am good at all tracks yet, but I know Spa very well at this point and I have been able to do sub 2:18 during races consistently for a while now and low 2:17’s in Hotlap. Being real close many times I finally was able to put down a 2:16.956 after more than 3 hours of trying!🤘🏻 Now i had some serious time to compare the new pedals to!😀😀🤘🏻🤘🏻
Monday the R7’s arrived and I eagerly unboxed them together with my son! First thoughts were that the presentation was very basic in a plain white box…but I know they are working on doing something much better…after all, I was probably one of the first to buy the R7’s! Taking them out the pedals felt really well built and heavy duty! I immediately noticed that the break pedal had a very short and hard throw, almost none existent actually! This had me a bit worried at first, since I had gone back from the real hard “F1” feeling in my Sprints to a more medium feeling with a little bit more throw that made me noticeably faster. But after asking Timo Koskela, the main designer of the pedals, if I should use the optional break kit he convinced me to wait and try them as they come first. So I did and mounted them on my rig without touching any settings or changing anything, except for the break pressure in the software! The first thing I noticed when I started using them was how smooth and short the throw was on the throttle!👍🏻 And I immediately felt more in control of the car than before! The control of the break pedal was also noticeably better and I could trail break on completely other level, in my opinion! Within two laps I was already doing low 2:17’s and on my 7th lap I broke my record from the day before with a 2:16.734 and kept the lap times in that range the whole time! And on the last lap of the night I did a 2:16.299!!!😳😳😳 Wow! Now, I did make some adjustments to the setup of the car and lower the temperature of the track some before the end of the evening…but have tried that before and not been close to anything like these times! Gaining almost 0.8 seconds in less than two hours on a new set of pedals is crazy!😳
Of course there can be factors that are in play here… maybe these pedals fit my feet or body type better or I might have had the Sprints set up just a bit off… maybe it is some kind of placebo effect… or I just got lucky 15 laps in a row!☺️😉 But, as I see it, the immediate results and the feel of theses pedals is undeniable!👍🏻
Simgrade.fi, with Timo and Juhani, have done a great job here and so far their customer support has been nothing but excellent! I will keep playing around with the settings for a while and see if I can make any improvements and report back if I find anything interesting. If anyone have questions or feedback, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer!👍🏻

Thank you Simgrade, changed from HE Ultimate to this, Was looking for more confort, not lap times. They really are a step in the right direction, Lap times was about the same compared to HE within a few laps. The moving from the heel rest is a bit strange for a few laps, but it really improves confort. its what separates the R7 from everyone else. Adjustments are miles away from other also, From really soft brake to 0 movement… i can say after about 1 month driving it ,was well worth it. Recomended

  5. Make73 (verified owner)

Mechanical engineering masterpiece, lot´s of effort put to these.
Dual action is great for precise control for pedal travel.
    No need upgrade from these.

Customer service is also superb and that´s important thing in nowdays, IMHO.

Only wish is little larger (and maby straight instead of curved) pedal faces for playing with socks, no problem when you find correct positions for ball and heel settings, it just take little time to find optimal ones.

    Perfect set – thank you

  7. Francois Goyette (verified owner)

The R7 pedals are my 4th purchase and are the most precise and comfortable. And it’s amazing all the parameters we can have.
I tested the gas pedals for the first time on F1 2021 at the Japanese circuit and I managed to maintain the pedal with good precision between 50% and 75% in the “S”. The mechanics are very precise probably because of the wheel bearings they put on that the other pedals do not have and that the heel of the foot goes up with the pedal.

If you like the little details you like the R7s.

    Strong point
    – Lots of physical parameters, to obtain good comfort and good precision.
    – Heel movement with the pedal mechanism.
    – Several rubber for different type of vehicle (great)
    – Very affordable price for the quality of the pedals.
    – Adjustable vertical heel support, incredible option.
    – Software very easy to configure.

    Weakness
    – Not a lot, but if you want to change the rubbers of the full brake pedal, nothing is holding the rubbers and the washers. If you change the type of vehicle often you have to be patient, but I noticed that it gave a 2nd screw for the rubbers but I haven’t used it yet and they don’t mention it in the documentation.

    Congratulations to the designer.

If it has any sentences that don’t seem to make sense, sorry as I was using google translate for this comment.

I started with a cheap pair of thrustmaster spring pedals and a spring feedback wheel years ago. since then I have bought all of TM’s pedals and then moved on to Fanatecand bought CSL elite pedals followed shortly by the the CS V3’s and none of them ever really felt anything like a real brake and throttle on a high performance vehicle or any other vehicle for that matter.
Then I laid eyes on the SimGrade R7’s and fell in love! After waiting a short time for them to be in stock they finally shipped to me and I will have to say that seeing them in person does not disappoint! The build quality and materials used are SOOOO far beyond anything else out there. Heuskenveld pedals look like someone has been tinkering around with an erector set using flimsy bent sheet metal. The construction of the R7’s is heavy duty and with ZERO play in any of the connections and adjustments.
As far as the feel of the pedals under foot all I can say is that they totally feel like the real thing. The different adjustments for each pedal let you dial them in very easily. I know they look a bit over engineered but they have really thought of everything. These are truly the last pedals you will ever need to buy! Just save yourself the hassle of looking any further or trying any other pedals. Don’t wast your time or money on other pedals, BUY THESE PEDALS RIGHT NOW AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!! 😁
Thanks for such a great product SimGrade!

  9. Brian (verified owner)

Thanks Simgrade these pedals are Awesome. Very comfortable lot’s of adjustments (Lot’s) smooth I have recently raced for 6 hours straight and not one complaint. I’m telling everyone I talk to in the sim world about these. You guys ROCK….. Thanks again.

  10. Tomi Katila (verified owner)

I bought these pedals after owning Heusinkveld Sprints. I was especially looking for more adjustability and that is how these pedals stand out the most.
I like how much you can adjust the pedal faces, move them up and down, forward or backward and change the tilt angle. On Sprint pedals there is not much to change but with this much adjustability it’s easy to find suitable pedal face positions to you. For me the pedal faces also feel great while driving without shoes like I usually do.
The movement of heel rest is something I like too. It’s more noticeable on throttle, you maybe get a feeling of a little more control while accelerating. On brake pedal you don’t notice the heel plate movement as much and that is completely fine.
With these pedals it’s extremely fast to change the overall resistance of the pedal by moving the shaft up or down on the curve. For the brake pedal I first tried the default GT car elastomers. It felt good but after that I added the additional preload spring and it improved the return of the brake pedal so for me it felt a bit better than without the preload spring. I still wanted to experiment a little bit more and I removed the elastomers and the preload spring and added the red GT spring. For me this setup felt really good and the overall feeling of the brake pedal changed a bit compared to elastomer setup so I also tried the yellow F1 spring and that is what I ended up using for now. I don’t think there are many brake pedals that allow you to choose between elastomers and springs.
For me the software is actually more simple than the Heusinkveld software. In R7 calibration tool you just adjust the 0% and 100% inputs for each pedal and you are good to go. You can also change the pedal curves if you like. One thing that was missing from the software was the percentage of each dot while editing the curve so if you want to for example adjust the clutch bite point in the software it currently takes a tiny bit more time with this software. That is maybe the only flaw I have found on these pedals.
Overall the quality of these pedals is top notch and the adjustability is so high that I would recommend these pedals to anyone who is looking for a high end pedal set.

  11. Alwin (verified owner)

Thank you Timo for this awesome product, i am very happy with the looks and the performance. The set has everything, i was doubting if i should buy the Clutch but after receiving it even if i dont use it that often, im happy i did! i would recommend it to everybody, for me these are the best on the market simply because of the way you can costumize it to your own liking is a game changer. Also got the simgrade Elite, very well engineered.

  12. LostBreed (verified owner)

I’ve had them for about 4 months. When they arrived all the hardware and tools were included for mounting and adjustments. Easy mount to a P1X cockpit, I place the electronic box under the pedal plate. I play mostly bare feet so I had to adjust the brake to prevent my feet from slipping and the throttle to allow me to heel-toe. I had the brake pedal face <1"~ closer than the throttle and made the heel support of the throttle 1"~ higher than the brake's. It's very comfortable with no issues.
When everything arrived the pedals were relatively silent and smooth. My clutch pedal started to make metal rubbing sounds, added some grease and not it's silent again. Brakes are now making the same sounds as my real car brake pedals… I'll check on that later. Throttle is dead silent.
Great pedals in game, being able to pivot the throttle gives more control. Brake can take a beating, I didn't change the default resistance, but It's still as stiff as when it first arrived.

We bought the pedals (together with an Simgrade Elite Rig) about a year ago. The main user is my son (16 years) driving various simulators and games, and me occasionally driving some iRacing. We love the pedals. They have performed flawlessly. My son was fast already before getting into this more serious gear, but even he gained some speed and consistency moving to R7’s.
For me this was a huge difference. I don’t have that much time to practice and I can still be competitive and drive fast without mistakes. Threshold braking is easy and modulating the brake pressure/force is easy on any car. If we ever get another rig (for me) we’ll be getting another set of R7’s for sure.

  14. Thomas Noll

I use the first version of Simgrade r7 (spec A?) and want to share the following experiences:

    – Fast delivery, well packaged
    – Great pre-sale AND after-sale support (thx Timo)
    – Tons of adjustments possible if you want to go in detail but also nice “out of the box” feeling
    – For sure the pedals with most possible settings available on the market (in terms of “ergonomic”)
    – Excellent built quality and no wear after several months of usage

First I used medium setting (yellow rubber) and moving heelplate.
At the moment I use hard setting (red rubber) and fixed heelplate (for F1) for both pedals.
Everything works as expected on each different setting – nice to have these options at any time.

Fully recommend Simgrade and these pedals!

  15. Michael Gasser (verified owner)

I love the Simgrade R7 Pedals!
There is not much more to say 🙂

Previously i owned the Sprints and Ultimate+ and now i can say: i would always prefer the R7! 🙂
For me they are nearly perfect; only thing i’m not 100% convinced are the pedal face, which are too curvy for me – but there should come a new option/update next time on the pedal faces (seen on instagram)

After a lot of time trying and adjusting i’ve found my personal perfect pedal/sitting position.
I haven’t anymore any gap at the heel and this gives me much more comfort and control.

I can highly recommend the Simgrade R7 Pedals!

ps. try the yellow spring on the brake – never thought, but i prefer this setting the most!

  16. Mika.EmKaY (verified owner)

The pedals are just great. I think it’s great that Tom and his partners have come up with something special. The feeling on the gas and brakes is great. You can adapt the pedals to your personal characteristics without any ifs or buts. I felt comfortable with Simgrade right from the start thanks to the close contact with Tom.

  17. Dominik Winkler (verified owner)

So I got my R7s for some time now and after mounting them correctly I can fully enjoy them now.
The options to customize them to your personal needs are very good. I got the Spec B ones, they came with a fair change of extras to customize them even further if you desire to do that.
The build quality is very good. They came in great packaging. The communication with Simgrade has been really great. They are very fast.
After getting used to the pedals and changing the ergonomics a few times I am really happy with my choice. They are worth every penny spend. I got the 3 pedal set, the cables are long enough and mounting them has been easy on my 160×40 item. Driving just feels very good. I can be very precise with my inputs and can drive for a long time without getting tired. I can really recommend them.

  18. RADISH! (verified owner)

I purchased the Simgrade R7 Spec C 3-pedal set, but have only been using the throttle and brake thus far. I plan to provide another review, specifically for the clutch, when I get some use from it.

I upgraded to the R7 from the Thrustmaster T3PA, which I’ve modified with a DIY loadcell. Even with that modification, the T3PA cannot compare to the R7 at all.

The R7 is incredible. I’m amazed at the consistency that these quality pedals allow me to achieve. I truly understand trailbraking now, and I’ve been able to routinely set consecutive lap times within tenths of each other – something I’ve never done before.

I love the throttle pedal and the resolution it offers. I’m able to tame even the twitchiest, turbocharged cars offered in Assetto Corsa due to the excellent modulation of the throttle pedal.

I wonder how much thought has been put into these pedals? There certainly has been a lot of ingenuity involved, but that is likely to be an understatement. Everything from the design to the finish of these pedals are impressive. The wide adjustability of the R7 was my main motivation for purchasing them, and I am pleased to say that they have exceeded my expectations. I set the pedals according to the instructions in the helpful, downloadable user manual, and was able to find a perfect setup after a week of tweaking. I’ll be honest: at first I was dismayed with the fact that I was adjusting the pedals every 15 minutes – a possible drawback to having pedals with near-infinite adjustability. Once that week was over, it appeared my persistence had paid off; I had a setup that complimented my bare feet. The comfort was amazing and I was happily racing for hours. Furthermore, I developed a better understanding of these pedals and am able to fine-tune them quite quickly and accurately to fit my expectations. I’m sure this skill will come in handy when I transition to a complete rig.

The user manual recommends mounting the R7s to a proper racing rig, and I agree. I’m still racing on a desk and chair, but made an aluminum-extrusion pedal mount and secured it to my chair, so I can put some strength into my pedal movements. Unfortunately, my office chair shows noticeable flex during braking, so now I’m planning to purchase a complete rig, haha.

The high quality of these pedals made me realize that I ought to upgrade to a direct drive wheelbase, too. My Thrustmaster T300’s force feedback lacks details when compared the incredible resolution offered by the R7 pedals.

The software for these pedals has been robust and remains so. My calibration settings never spontaneously change between sessions, and the user interface is simple to use. It just works.

I want to touch on the greatest things about these pedals: the heel plate and the unique pivoting mechanism. Yes, I believe these are responsible for the superb pedal control that I’ve been experiencing. However, what I am really excited about – and most people are likely to dismiss – is that I think these pedals have helped strengthen my ankles properly. For the last 10 years, I’ve suffered from a weak left ankle due to multiple ankle sprains. It had never really healed correctly, and flexes at noticeably different angle. After using the R7 for one week, I was astonished to find my left ankle much stronger than the years before, and even flexing at an improved angle, too! This has seriously been one of the best physiotherapy exercises for my chronically weak ankle that I have had the pleasure of accidentally discovering! For that alone, I am truly glad to have purchased these pedals because they have genuinely made my life so much better. 🙂

Finally, I want to extend my gratitude to Timo and Juhani. Their customer service has been excellent from start to finish. All my questions, no matter how annoying, were answered quickly and clearly. Pedal diagrams were provided to ensure that my bare feet would comfortably operate these pedals (and I’m glad to say that they fit me well!). Shipping from Finland to USA was extremely fast, and the pedals arrived in pristine condition because they were packaged carefully.

If you’re reading this, I want you to know that although I’ve written a lot of words about these pedals, they are much more remarkable than any words of praise I can offer. You really need to experience these for yourself!

    🙂

I have owned these pedals for about an year now and I have to say they are really really good. Coming up from HE Ultimates, I like the R7 a lot more. They are very adjustable, (to the point that it might take you a while until you can set up everything the way you like it, but if even a technically challenged person like myself can do it, everybody can), smooth, comfortable (that’s the aspect where these pedals are in a league of their own) and reliable (I didn’t have any issues with them whatsoever).
The support is also top notch and the software gives you all the funtionality you need.
A freind of mine bought the R7 at my recommendation and he loves them as well. I’m pretty sure there will be more of my friends getting them in the future!

  20. Teemu Korhonen (verified owner)

I have to say that I have been really happy with both the product and also the customer service by SimGrade. I have experience on several other pedals, and I upgraded from my previous Heusinkveld Pro to these. The amount of different adjustments is just astonishing and I would have hard time believing if somebody said me that they weren’t able to adjust the pedals to their liking. The pedal software is also very easy to use and offers quite a lot of different tuning possibilities.

My first impression of the pedals was that the moving heel plate was a bit funny, but after the first session I had already gotten used to them and they actually made especially using and modulating the throttle a bit easier. Most noticeable difference to my earlier pedals was that you are able to push the brake pedal a lot harder without the force going to 100%. I also noticed that my braking was a lot more consistent even with the original medium elastomer settings, but after testing different options I ended up using the yellow steel spring which offers the resistance to my liking.

  21. Mark Taylor (verified owner)

Thought id give an unbiased review of my Simgrade R7 pedals (C spec)
First impressions are they are big and dwarf my Sprints, construction and quality are absolutely on point being full stainless steel bar the hight tensile steel bolts and steel spacers.

Mounting to my TrakRacer pedal plate was relatively simple but I did have to drill two new holes in the pedal plate.

They come with a GT feel elastomer stack fitted and I decided that bar setting them up to suit my feet I would leave the elastomer stack as supplied.

There are so many adjustments that it’s very easy to get them diled in so your feet just sit on the heel plate and naturally rest on the adjustable heel rest and main part of your foot, adjustment for pedal travel is simple and I left that as supplied which is set to max travel.

Feel is easily adjusted by a simple ratchet mechanism which means you can simply and quickley make very fine adjustments to the feel of the pedal to get it just right, am running them two clicks stiffer on the brake and four clicks stiffer on the throttle.

So how do they performe, well the throttle is silky smooth in operation and is very easy to do small throttle inputs to balance the car due mainly to being fully ball raced on all pivot points and having a nice long travel.

The brake pedal is somthing else again silky smooth very very intuative and you can really lean on the pedal upto the point of lockup, and a slight lift of pressure and trail braking is simple, quite simply the best pedal I’ve ever felt.

Now what about those moving heel plates, quite simply they are brilliant.
I’ve got major knee issues and with my Sprints after a few laps pressing the pedal would result in shooting pain in my knee, the harder I pressed the more the pain. Currently my left knee is quite swollen so not really a fair test but after six laps of the Nordshlife not even a twing, quite simply outstanding.

So initial thoughts are they are a fantastic bit of engineering, we thought out and constructed Simgrade have been very helpful answering questions very quickly via Facebook and they are well worth the investment.

Thank you Simgrade, changed from Fanatec Club Sport v3 R7 pedals and upgraded from console to PC.

Adjustments are miles away from other also, From really soft brake to 0 movement… i can say after about 1 month driving it ,was well worth it. Highly recommended. Best ever designed pedals ever made. Well done guys, very very happy.

I was waiting a while for a very noteworthy set of racing pedals. I came across the R7s and without a doubt – these pedals hit every check-mark.. Construction quality is an A+.. Plenty of adjustments.. After about 6 months of use – not even a squeak.. Sim racing experience is on a next level.. The folks at SRG did an amazing job… Great customer service. Excellent craftmanship.. I don’t see any other competitor that comes close… Money well spent…

Lovely set of pedals! Upgraded from a low-end set to DD wheel, proper rig and now these proper pedals and what a difference it has been on the driving, both feel and performance!

The R7 pedals were great right off the box with normal setup, but just slightly adjusting the forces and travels on both pedals (throttle and brake) made them feel like a perfect fit to my rig (OP Formula style). These pedals made me want to try the more difficult cars to drive on iRacing, switching from mainly iR-04 to Porsche Cup, which has been a blast! Also the Formula feels a lot more natural to control now.

I can recommend these pedals for anyone upgrading even from a low-tier system, don’t worry too much about going straight to high-end! The middle-grades are just a blockage in the way making you lose more Euros and seconds on the track!

  26. Jukka Eskelinen (verified owner)

I bought R7 (SPEC C) pedals about a year ago. I specifically wanted pedals that have pivoting mechanism to minimize pressure to knee area as I was recovering from a motorcycle accident. From the first tests I could feel less pressure to my knee (brake pedal) and I was able to adjust movement and force to desired level. In longer endurance sessions I felt the brake pedal to be more accurate when I was not able to put normal pressure to pedal through my knee and I did not feel any pain either. Pivoting mechanism works great! I would recommend these pedals to anyone who is looking for a high end pedal set especially if you have some issues with your knees.

  27. Chris Wilson

Well what can I say if your in the market for high end pedals before I ordered theses I was using the heusinkveld Ultimate plus and I could not see how I could get better I’m not knocking them but the R7s are on a different level the build the Materials your getting a real premium product yes you will be taking days to get them dialled in but after a week using them I went from 2K to 3.6k iracing driver in just 2weeks the control and comfort is the best I have ever used in so consistent now if you buy theses you won’t need to upgrade ever again with the fast delivery and customer service your on a winner from the start I added the break mod kit and the pedal faces and I got even faster I like the feel of the gas pedal so much the control it gives me I’m shooting out the corners like never before I’m one happy racer I reached a Plato with my simracing now I’m on the way to 5k thank you so much for giving us the best pedals one could ever need
